This 1 Day Lake Mburo Uganda Wildlife safari is one of the short Uganda wildlife safaris. This is a 1 day fun filled adventurous day that sees you out into the wild. It allows you to take a day off and enjoy the Ugandan wildlife. This is most convenient if you are in Uganda for work and conference.
Lake Mburo national park is located in the western part of Uganda and is the smallest national park in Uganda. With more than 68 mammal species, the Lake Mburo national park is mostly famous for is great herds of zebras and impala. The park is made up of savanna, woodlands and the lake which offers amazing boat cruises.
1 Day Lake Mburo Uganda Wildlife safari detailed itinerary
The briefing for your Uganda wildlife safari will be done the day before the safari. We will depart Kampala as early as 6:00 am to avoid traffic and fit in the day’s activities. Driving along the Kampala-Masaka highway, we will make our first stop at the equator. Here, we will have breakfast and take some memorable pictures of the equator monument. We shall indulge in experiments that determine the different hemispheres.
Proceed to Lake Mburo national park through Masaka and on we will enter the park through the Nshara gate. This drive will take up to 4 hours including the breakfast stop. At the gate, we will venture into the wilderness on a game drive. With a guide, we will venture onto the different tracks in the park in search of the wildlife.
The Game drive:
This game drive on this Uganda Wildlife safari is done in a customized safari vehicle with a pop up roof. This feature allows you to comfortably view the wildlife in comfort. On this game drive, we will see amazing wildlife like zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, buffalo, warthogs, leopards, bush bucks, water bucks, baboons, vervet monkeys and many more. This game drive will lead us onto the Lake where we will have a delicious lunch with the lake as the back drop. Plenty of bird species like the turaco, weaver birds, king fisher, African fish eagle and many more can be seen on this game drive.
Boat cruise:
After the delicious lunch, we will embark on the afternoon boat cruise. This cruise will take us around Lake Mburo offering amazing views of more Uganda wildlife like Hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and plenty of birds. The boat cruise is both adventurous and relaxing. After the boat cruise, we will check out the park and start our drive back to Kampala.
We will drive through Masaka, stopping for a drink at the equator before reaching Kampala. On arrival, the guide will drop you at your hotel or residence. This will mark the end of your 1 Day Lake Mburo Uganda Wildlife safari.
