2 Days Rwanda gorilla safari

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes national park

Our company guide will pick you up from the hotel or Kigali international airport for transfer to volcanoes national park. Start with Kigali city tour, where you will visit the famous Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre which left over million people killed, visit local community markets and drive around the town of Kigali.  Have lunch from any restaurants or hotel where you can try out our African dishes or you can enjoy western dishes.

After lunch proceed with 2 hours journey to Volcanoes national park passing through beautiful rolling hills, landscapes and Virunga Mountains as they can be seen in the vicinity. Upon arrival at the park, drive to the lodge and check-in then proceed for Iby’wachu Village tour which is very interesting activity when in Volcanoes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking and departure

Leave the lodge at 7:00 am after morning breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for briefing and gorilla group a location, you will register with the headquarters and then enjoy traditional performance entertainment being done from the park. After briefing drive to the trekking starting point with park warden who will lead the group into the forest to begin the search of the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habituate. Gorilla trekking takes half an hour to 8 hours depending on their movement in search of foods.

 After allocating the gentle giants, you will spend only one hour with them and after return to the park’s headquarters where you will meet your guide waiting for you. Have lunch en-route and continue with the journey back to Kigali city. Drop off at the hotel or to Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
