This 3 Day Ngamba island Chimpanzee Tour takes you to Ngamba Island, home to rescued and orphaned chimpanzees. This Uganda safari allows to feed, observe and trek the chimpanzees in the forest of the Island.
Established in 1998, Ngamba Island’s main goal was to nurture orphaned and rescued chimpanzees from poachers and encroachers. At this sanctuary, these chimpanzees found a new home where they could thrive and be cared for. It’s now home to over 50 chimpanzees.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Ngamba Island
On the morning of this 3 Day Ngamba island Chimpanzee Tour, a guide will pick your from your hotel and after a short briefing transfer you to Entebbe. Here, you will take a motor boat to the Island. On arrival, you will get the chance to see the chimpanzees feeding and undertake in the feeding process. You will observe them eat and play with one another.
You will have lunch and relax at your lodge. Later in the afternoon, you will have the opportunity of visiting the local neighboring communities. You will retire to the lodge for the evening.
Day 2: Forest walk and Chimpanzee trekking
After breakfast, you will embark on your forest walk in search of the chimpanzees. This unique Uganda safari experience where you will enjoy the sounds and sights of the forest. On making contact with chimpanzees, you will watch them play and interact with one another. Usually, they will play with you, pulling at your clothes, holding hands and even climbing on you. This is all done in affection.
Later, you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, we will head out for a boat cruise on Lake Victoria. Amazing bird species and the sunset are the highlights of this boat cruise. This cruise will last up to 1 hour. We will return to the lodge for the night.
Day 3: Transfer back to Entebbe -The mainland
On the last day of this 3 Day Ngamba island Chimpanzee Tour, we will have breakfast before we set off for the mainland. We will stop at the equator and have a swim and some photos. On arrival on the mainland, the guide will drive you back to your hotel. This will mark the end of our 3 Day Ngamba island Chimpanzee Tour
