3 Days Rwanda chimpanzee tracking Safari
This 3 days chimpanzee tracking safari takes you to Nyungwe forest national park commonly known for chimps and so rich with flora and fauna. Nyungwe forest national park lies in Southwest of Rwanda and is a high-altitude rainforest on the Albertine Rift. The park covers an area of 950 square kilometres of diverse terrain remains untouched and it is the largest montane forest area in East or Central Africa.
Nyungwe forest national park is home to over 13 species of primates which include chimpanzees, owl-faced and colobus monkeys and over 300 bird species, 200 species of trees and over 100 varieties of Orchid.
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park and Kigali city tour
Picked up from the hotel or Kigali international airport by our experienced tour guide for transfer to Nyungwe forest national park. Start with Kigali city tour where you will visit Memorial sites, king’s palace and national Museum. After city tour, proceed for lunch and after lunch drive to Nyungwe forest national park with spectacular views of rolling hills, landscapes and local homestead. Check –in at the lodge for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top Hills View Hotel or One & Only Nyungwe House.
Day 2: Chimps tracking and canopy walk
Leave the lodge after morning breakfast and report to park’s headquarters for briefing and grouping. The park warden will lead the group into the forest; expect to encounter chimpanzees, l’Hoest’s monkeys and owl-faced monkeys. After finding the chimps spend one hour with them and return to the starting point where you will meet your driver who will transfer you back to the lodge for lunch. Head for canopy walk and after you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Departure
Have morning breakfast and check-out of the lodge. Transfer to Kigali city with en-route stop for lunch, arrival to Kigali you will be dropped at the hotel or Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.
