Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth
On the day of this 5 day Queen Elizabeth Uganda safari Tour, our guide will pick you from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. After a quick brief on your Uganda safari tour, you will embark on your drive to Queen Elizabeth. We will make our first stop at the equator for some photos and some experiments to determine the different hemispheres. Proceed and have our lunch at Igongo cultural center. We will enjoy the scenic drive through the western part of Uganda. The local life by the side of the road makes a lovely journey. On arrival, we will check into our lodge for the night.
Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise.
After an early breakfast, we will embark on a game drive in the kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth. This drive allows us to get as close as possible to the various wildlife in the park. This drive is undertaken in a customized safari vehicle. We hope to see wildlife like elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, buffalo, kobs and plenty of bird species. The guide will provide you with interesting facts about the various animals seen on this safari. This game drive lasts up to 4 hours. We shall then return to the lodge for an early lunch in preparation for the afternoon boat cruise.
The boat cruise takes place on the Kazinga channel. It offers a relaxing time as you enjoy the birds, wildlife and scenery. We hope to see elephants, buffalo, and water bucks as they come for a drink in the afternoon heat. Other water dwellers like crocodiles and hippos can be seen in the channel and on the banks. With over 600 bird species, the boat cruise offers an amazing time for bird lovers. This cruise lasts 2 hours. We will return to the lodge for a relaxing evening and night.
Day 3: Game drive and crater drive
On the third day of this 5 day Queen Elizabeth Uganda safari Tour, we will have another early morning breakfast before venturing out into the park for another game drive. This gives us another chance to see the wildlife we might have missed on the previous game drive. We will take our time and be mesmerized by the sightings of the animals. We will return to the lodge for a relaxing afternoon. Later in the evening, we will go yet to another part of the part for the amazing scenery of the crater lakes. Created as a result of volcanic actions, the crater drives allows us to visit the different craters in Queen Elizabeth national park. Day 4: Nature walk and chimpanzee trekking.
Following a late breakfast, we will prepare for our trekking safari. We will head into the Kyambura Gorge, a forest at the edge of Queen Elizabeth national park. After a briefing at the park headquarters, we will venture into the forest for chimpanzee trekking. In this briefing, we will be taken through the guidelines of Chimpanzee trekking. This ensures a smooth and enjoyable trek on your Uganda Safari tour. We will venture into the forest led by an experienced ranger. The ranger will give us more information about the primates, their lifestyles and the bird life in the forest. On making contact with the chimps, we will interact with them as per the guidelines provided during the briefing. We will see them play, eat and groom each other.
