5 Days best of Rwanda safari : This 5-day safari will unveil to you the beauty of the wondrous Rwanda. Track and locate a family of mountain gorillas led by a patriarch silverback. Have a go at physical interaction with the cheeky chimps. You will also get to have a tour around the beautiful Kigali city. The mystical jungle floor will take a piece of your emotions and physical energy, so be prepared to store some unforgettable memories on the Rwanda Safari adventure.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali.
Upon arrival at the airport, Meet and greet by your private tour driver/guide and after a briefing session, commence your journey to the beautifully clean city with very hospitable and friendly people. You will be taken to your place of accommodation where you will dine and slumber as you prepare for the next day’s activities.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park.
After breakfast drive to Nyungwe National Park. This journey is very fascinating as you will observe amazing sceneries all around the area. The guide will slowly drive to allow you capture the best photographs. You’ll have a number of stopovers at Butare National Museum, Nyanza (Rukali) as well as Malaba coffee factory, plus other exciting areas. Arrive late in the evening and check into your lodge. Have dinner and get ready for the amazing day of tracking chimpanzees.
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking or Canopy walk or nature walk or birding.
Awaken early for an early breakfast. Go to Nyungwe forest to track chimpanzees with the guidance of experienced rangers. These rangers are aware of best places to easily track these chimpanzees. While you hike through the verdant forest, you will find various other primates such as monkeys, which will excite you as you move closer to the forest chimpanzees. There are various Bird species as well for birdwatchers. The opportunity to see these chimpanzees are quite amazing, you will observe them play, feed and rest. You will be allowed to take numerous pictures after this you will head back for lunch and later have a forest walk to see the beautiful twin lakes as well as various bird species. Have dinner and slumber.
Day 4: Transfer from Nyungwe to Volcanoes National Park.
After a delicious early breakfast head to Volcanoes National Park. The ride will offer great views of Lake kivu which are very suitable for photography. Enjoy lunch on the way and continue on this interesting drive. Arrive late evening and check into your lodge.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking adventure and transfer back to Kigali.
Have an early breakfast and proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing regarding gorilla trekking by the park rangers. You will hike through the verdant jungle looking for mountain gorillas. Some amount of physical fitness is needed during this activity since it involves a lot of climb hills. The experience is tedious but impressive when you finally face the mountain gorillas. You’ll spend an hour with them, see them in families as they go about their day-to-day routine activities; mothers caring for the young, playing as well as feeding. You are required to maintain a distance while you watch them, make sure to turn off the flash of your camera as you take pictures. Gorilla Trekking takes approximately two to six hours. Right after trekking, transfer back to Kigali for your departure flight.
