Day 1: pickup and transfer to Akagera National Park and short game drive
On the 1st day of 5 days mountain goa and wildlife safari you will be picked from Kigali international airport upon arrival, your safari driver will give you a short safari briefing you will head to Akagera national park. On your way you will enjoy scenic viewing of hilly landscape and when you arrive in the park, you will check into your lodge, have lunch and rest. In the afternoon you will go for a short safari drive on which you will spot many animals such as buffaloes, hippos, elephants and many more. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 2: morning game drive and boat safari
On the 2nd day of the safari you will have early morning breakfast and head to the park for a morning game drive, on the game drive expect to see many animals such as rhinos, buffaloes, warthogs, zebras, lions, leopards, baboons, oribi and many more in the savannah grasslands of the park. You will then head back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will return to the park for a boat ride on lake Ihema. On the boat ride you will spot many animals such as crocodiles, hippos in the waters of the lake and buffaloes, zebras, oribis and many more which come to drink water on the lake shores. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: morning Game drive and transfer to volcanoes national park
On the 3rd day of 5 days Rwanda mountain gorilla trekking and wildlife safari you will have morning breakfast and head to the park for morning game drive, on the game drive you will spot early risers such as lions, leopards, rhinos, hyenas and many more. After the game drive you will head back to your lodge, have lunch then checkout and set off for volcanoes national park a famous home for mountain gorillas. When you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge, rest for a while and in the evening, you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: mountain gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park
On the 4th day of Rwanda mountain gorilla and wildlife safari you will have morning breakfast and head out to park with your packed lunch for mountain gorilla trekking experience, you will have briefing at the park’s headquarters in which a ranger guide will read you the rules and regulations to follow on this experience, be assigned a mountain gorilla group to trek then head into the forests of volcano national park in search for mountain gorillas. Tracking for mountain gorillas takes about 3-6 hours depending on the movement of mountain gorillas and when you find the gorillas you are allocated only one hour to stay in the presence of mountain gorillas while watching these beautiful animals and take pictures as long as your flashlight is off. After the experience you will head back to the park’s headquarters, meet your safari guide and head to your lodge for rest. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali
On 5 day of Rwanda mountain gorilla and wildlife safari you will have early morning breakfast at your lodge, checkout of your lodge and head Iby’Iwacu village for a cultural visit, the Iby’Iwacu village is also referees to as a guardians’ village and while in this village you will encounter the lifestyle of the locals, learn how to make baskets, watch demonstration of crowing the king and queen and many more. After the experience you will embark on your journey back to Kigali. In Kigali you will have lunch and then be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight to catch your flight back home.
