5 Day Uganda Primate safari Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale national park.
A guide will pick you from your hotel and brief you on your Uganda safari. We will depart from Kampala and head towards Kibale national park. We shall have lunch in Mubende. The lush green vegetation provides a relaxing and enjoyable ride. On arrival in Kibale national park, we will check into the lodge and relax for the evening,
Day 2; Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Wetlands.
After an early breakfast, we will head to the park headquarters for the chimpanzee briefing. We will be taken through the guidelines of chimpanzee trekking. Venture out into the forest in search of the primates. On making contact, we will get to observe them as they leap from tree branches, eat and groom. We will have an hour with them.
Other primates can be seen during this primate safari and they include; grey checked mangabeys, white and black colobus and the red tailed monkey. After the trek, we will return to the lodge for a relaxing afternoon.
Later in the evening, we will embark on a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp. Here, we hope to see plenty of bird species like great Turaco. If lucky we might see the Sitatunga.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi
We will depart Kibale national park and head towards Bwindi impenetrable forest. The drive is scenic offering amazing views of the Rwenzori Mountains. On arrival in Bwindi, we will retire to the lodge enjoying the amazing views and sounds of the forest.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking.
Proceeding an early breakfast, we will go for a briefing about gorilla trekking. We will be told the guidelines for the trek. We will be allocated gorilla families to trek. We will cut trails in the impenetrable forest to find these gorillas. When we find them, we have an hour with them. We will takes pictures as we observe them eat, sleep and even groom. We will return to the lodge for the afternoon and a relaxing evening.
Day 5 Depart for Kampala.
On the last day of this 5 Day Uganda Primate safari, we will leave Bwindi, driving through the scenic hills of Kabale. We will have a lunch stop at Igongo cultural center for a mouthwatering lunch. We will make another stop at the equator for some photos. On arrival in Kampala, the guide will drop you at your hotel or airport. This will mark the end of your 5 Day Uganda Primate safari
