2 Days Sipi Falls & Jinja Safari

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Sipi falls in Kapchorwa. Visit Sezibwa falls and Source of the Nile Boat cruise along the way

Start a long day in Kampala after breakfast and hit Jinja road heading to Sipi falls. This feature is one of the most and leading attraction in eastern Uganda which consists of three falls that originate from Sipi River.

It got its name from a wild plant called ‘Sep’ that is found on the river banks, and it is used by the surrounding community to cure fever and measles.

You will have your stopover in the new Buikwe district to visit the Sezibwa falls. These thunderous falls are a worshipping place for the king of Buganda and there are also a lot of traditional healers in this place that claim to derive their magical powers from River Sezibwa.

Proceed with a road trip through the beautiful natural forest (Mabira Forest) and here you will spot some primates such as olive baboons, Vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys among others.

On the arrival in Jinja, the industrial city of Uganda, you will head for a short boat ride on the Nile and also visit the source of the Nile where the longest river in the world begins from. After an experience, head to Kapchorwa where you will have your booked accommodation. This will be the end of day one.

Day 2: Hiking Sipi falls and transfers back to Kampala

Today, experience the fun-filled hiking adventure as you explore the triple Sipi falls on Sipi River and the day will commence with a cup of tea followed with a short briefing by the local tour guide who will take you through the history of Sipi falls and the surrounding areas.

You will immediately start the hike that will take you through the farmland for the Bagisu and Sabiny and proceed to start with the bottom fall to the top fall. The hike can take between 4-5 hours depending on the speed. After an experience, you will head back to Kampala and this will be the end of the tour.
