This 3 days Congo gorilla trekking safari taking you to the Virunga Mountains in search of the Gorillas. 3 Days Congo gorilla trekking safari Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bukima

A guide will pick you from your hotel/airport in Kigali, brief you on your safari before you set off. You will drive through the beautiful scenery that is Rwanda. You will have a lunch stopover in Goma before proceeding to Bukima. On arrival, you will check into the lodge and have a relaxing evening.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Congo

After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing. The park ranger will take you through the safety guidelines. These are meant to ensure a safe and memorable gorilla safari. You will venture out into the forest in search of the gorillas.

On seeing the gorillas, you have an hour with them. During this 1 hour, you will observe them as they eat, play and interact with each other. Remember to keep the 7 meter distance to avoid them charging at you. Depending on the location of the gorilla family, the trekking can take up to 6 hours.

After the gorilla trekking, you will return to the lodge and rest for the afternoon and evening.

Day 3: Return to Kigali.

On the last day of this Congo gorilla trekking safari, we shall have an early breakfast before departing for Kigali. On arrival, the guide will drop you at your hotel or airport for your flight. This will mark the end of your 3 days Congo gorilla trekking safari.
