Game Drives in Murchison falls National park : Murchison falls national park game drive is the magnificent route to observe the enriched diversity of wildlife   and a  grasp of each and every thing located in the park. Murchison is a habitant   for many wildlife species for example, the park has over 76 types of mammals  , giraffes, lions, Jackson hartebeests, hyenas e.t.c 451 birds  species e.g the shoebill, African Darter, weaver birds .

Murchison has different types  of  vegetation  which favours wild life and these are  savannah grasslands and woodland . Its located in the north western part  of uganda  which covers an area of 3840sq km. Making it good for tourists to discover each and everything as guided by the game rangers.

BEST TIME FOR GAME DRIVE IN MURCHISON FALLS.

Game drive can happen through out the year  but in specified months . The best option is in dry  seasons and the  drives are best done in June-  September and December- January in these months you can observe all  the wild life since they come out of their inhabitants and gather around the river to take water  and bathe. Forexample viewing lions , Antelopes, buffaloes e.t.c. To say more about the seasons ,in the dry season  the grass is short hence enabling easy viewing of  the animals  than in the rainy season where the grass is tall.

GAME DRIVE TRAILS IN MURCHISION FALLS NATIONAL PARK  .

Murchison Falls National Park has different game drive trails  that are followed while conducting a game drive for example  the Albert and Victoria  trails. While using  these traces  on the game drive its gives a  marvellous experience since  each is enrich   with  various habitats e.g the Nyamsika   is home to many animals  that live in water  and the cliffs have many animals that  be there like lions , buffaloes,  and different birds .

PLACES TO DO GAME DRIVES WHILE IN MURCHISON.

Murchison is divided in to two  banks that is to say the northern bank and  the southern back. So when it comes to game drives ,they should be done along the northern bank since that’s where most of the wildlife concentrate living in the savannah plains. Yet the southern has few wild animal e.g antelopes herds .

PROGRAMMES FOLLOWED IN MURCHISION FOR GAME DRIVES.

They are two main programmes followed as to carry out game drives in Murchison which is the morning  and evening drives .The morning drive in carried out at 6:30 early in the morning so as to be able to view wild life and the  Evening drive starts at around 4:00pm. The game drives can take something like 3- 4hours  so as to  view all the parts of the park mostly the northern banks which has a concentration of wildlife .

VEHICLES TO BE USED WHILE CARRYING OUT GAME DRIVES.

Many vehicles can be  used e.g land Rovers  with tiered seating , Toyota Landcruiser  jeep . Though A4x4 vehicles are advised to be used while carryout a game drive . But all game drives are advised to be having an armed park ranger guide  who knows more in case of any problem.

All in all rules and regulations of the park should be followed during game drives to avoid inconveniences   and to have stunning memories   within the heads and thoughts .
