Budongo Eco Lodge is located in Murchison falls national park in Budongo forest. Carefully designed into the forest, the lodge blends into the forest providing you with calm and serene moments on your Uganda safari. The Budongo forest is home to over 600 chimpanzees and 8 other primate species. Rare bird species like Pavel’s illadopses are some of the birds that can be seen and heard in this forest.
Budongo Eco Lodge has Eco-cabins, dorm rooms and a visitor’s center. Furthermore, the lodge is the starting point for chimpanzee trekking, chimpanzee habituation, forest walks and bird watching. Budongo Eco Lodge Cabins
The lodge has 5 wooden cabins which are well perched around the camp. They are well secluded and offer privacy during your Uganda safari. They are well connected to each other and the main lounge by well-maintained walking paths which are lit by lanterns in the night. The walking paths are made by natural materials for low impact on the environment. The cabins are spacious with a king sized bed and twin beds, a sitting area and a private deck. This lets you relax, enjoy the sounds of the forest and view the birds and tall mahogany trees. The cabins are en-suite with hot and cold water.
Budongo Eco Lodge Dormitory rooms
The lodge has 4 spacious and comfortable dorm rooms equipped with 2 bunk beds furnished with mosquito nets. The dorms have a shared toilet and shower with cold and hot water.
Restaurant
The restaurant is set in the main lounge of the lodge. This gives you great views of the forest and the sounds of the whistling of the trees. A fully socked bar provides wines, spirits, cold and hard drinks. Local and continental dishes are served by the open terrace with amazing views.
Visitor’s Center
The Eco Lodge has a well-stocked visitor’s center offering information on Uganda, safari activities and books, history and information on the inhabitants of the forest. Wi-Fi is readily available in the public areas.
Craft Shop
The lodge has a craft shop with a wide selection of Uganda crafts. Some include hand-woven baskets, craft necklaces, guide books and many more.
