About Ruhija Sector
Luxury accommodation in ruhija : Ruhija Sector is one of the four gorilla sectors making up Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in the Eastern part of the park, this sector is the highest region in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park standing at an elevation of over 2,350 meters above the sea level making the coldest area in the park.
Ruhija Sector is the most topographically diverse sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and is mainly used for scientific research, this sector boasts unmatched views of forest ridge after forest ridge, all the way to the Virunga Mountains.
Ruhija Sector is a special sector as it is the only sector in Bwindi where elephants are present, other animals found in Rushaga sector on top of Mountain gorillas include monkeys and antelopes. Ruhija Sector offers some of the most challenging hikes in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Rwamunyonyi Peak at 2,607 meters also known as “the hill of many birds” is the highest and coldest point in Bwindi Forest. On this hill, there is a large swamp.
In Ruhija Sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, there is only one luxury lodge that is Ruhija Gorilla Lodge.
Ruhija Sector has only 3 habituated gorilla families that are open for gorilla trekking adventures, these are Bitukura Gorilla Family, Oruzogo Gorilla Family, Kyaguriro gorilla family.

Ruhija Gorilla Lodge has a total of 15 elegant and luxurious comfortable cottages built in modern style with modern comfort, these cottages are carefully designed to blend with the natural environment around and provides quality stay.
Guest rooms at Ruhija Gorilla Lodge are categorized as Superior Room Cabins and Deluxe Room Cabins.
All guest rooms are well decorated, furnished and equipped with mosquito nets, satellites, driers, private en-suite facilities like flushing toilets, hot and cold running showers.
Each of the rooms have terraces and sitting areas with wooden balconies on which you can relax and enjoy the breathing views of the Bwindi Forest canopy and the Virunga Mountains.
